Biking (trail paved) 1:00:00 [3] 10.0 mi (6:00 / mi)

Around Cedarburg, by the pond, played with the very curious bluegills. Also, saw a groundhog and found his little house, right by the crossing of the trail with the railroad.

Mash AR - Blue Mounds

TEAM DIVA DUO with Rebecca

I just started a cold with fever and all that 2 days prior, but this is nothing new. The weather look like rain and thurnderstorms, nothing new there either. So I got there ...before the mandatory meeting, yey! Met Rebecca, and planned our bike routes.

1) aerial map: The start was a mile before you enter the park. We bushwacked around, it was pretty fun and we made a pretty good time.

2) bike to WI river: Now, she was in pretty good darn shape, and me not so much. So, hill after hill, did NOT walk one hill, but had to granny gear it real good. The farmlands of Wisconsin were beautiful! My new GE bike shorts worked wonders cause my butt doesn't hurt! She navigated just fine the bike part, and was prety awesome team player! I'd race with her again any day!

3) paddle kayak:up the river, we figured we get the min no of points so we can get more on the O part. Plan worked only partially as the bike section was way too long to accomplish much... This part was so funny, a couple guys dumped...and they seem to have fun, but not really talking to each other, then all teams started to search for a control on land...finally left them (I did have to look to make sure I wasn;t missing much :). On the way back, we had to drag the kayak over a sand bar, but now it had plenty water in it, and neithe of us was Hercules... so all the guys teams passed us looking at us struggling ;( Grrrrr... I guess it's a race, maybe they were upset we passed them on the bike? Anyway, finally Adam gave us a tip to use half a paddle to drag the darn thing, and now we were finally moving. Bear feet in this muddy sand, don't ask! Well, I was laughing pretty hard and that's what I remember!

4) bike back to blue mounds state park: sunny and shiny, and getting a good farmer girl tan for the wedding:) No sunblock, of course

5) orienteering: quickly had to get as many points as possible (=4). I was so wiped out, but for some reason, as soon as I was bushwacking, I was full speed...and then wqhen we reached the road to return, I just could barely move. But we had team fat otter behind us and I was pretty sure they didn't have many points more or less, so we used last drop of energy and made it first!

Placed 3rd in open category! (probably the only girls team)

6) beer + pizza

The far tire went so fast... looks liek these adventure racers have good taste in beer!

FUN!FUN!FUN! as always!

Biking (MTB) 1:40:00 [3] 10.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Solomon Red

John Muir, the Blue trail

The blue trail is marked as 12 miles, but I think it's only 10, unless we missed something.

Then we did the skills trail too, a bunch of wood boardwalks ... fun, but I'm not really comfortable on that. Feel like I got more chnages of banging up different bones...

Fun ride, great workout. And Robby actually challenged me!

Oh, we saw a coyote (or something like that, with a big fluffly tail) in one of the meadows.

Blue mounds state park - WI state champs (3rd place, cause we don;t count Kevin :)

This might be the last WI state champs for me, and it was beautiful: great weather, fun courses, didn't get lost (much at all). and Robby got a good result on his course too.
