Sunday Feb 16 #

(rest day)

Travelling back from Scotland. Despite not much running this week lots of time on feet and long days in the mountains that I think will have been really beneficial for me.

Saturday Feb 15 #

Running 1:53:00 [3] 17.35 km (6:31 / km) +898m 5:10 / km

Back out on the fell. Wind was seriously high (50-60mph winds). Went up the ridge which I enjoyed despite the wind then a tough descent across steep ground and snow. Finished off with some quicker trails.

Friday Feb 14 #

Running 1:47:00 [3] 11.25 km (9:31 / km) +719m 7:12 / km

Aweful weather so no more Mountaineering. Instead time for some fell storm Dennis. Absolutely grim weather and got very cold when I ended up falling through the snow up to my waist in a river.

Thursday Feb 13 #

Unspecified 9:00:00 [3] 9.0 km (1:00:00 / km) +1100m 37:14 / km

A big day out on Stob Coire Nan Lochan. An absolute fabulous assent via easy ridge. Some very technical short climbing sections. We soloed these moves but was a little unnerving when the guide in the group behind us started ropeing up. Still happy with our approach as wasn't outside my comfort zone.

Wednesday Feb 12 #

Unspecified (Winter Mountaineering) 9:00:00 [3] 5.0 km (1:48:00 / km) +700m 1:03:32 / km

Spicy day out in Glencoe. Very steep (50 degrees) assent to a ridge. Weather wasn't as nice as it was forcast. Initial climb took far longer than we had planned. Actually a very enjoyable day challenging myself physically and mentally.

Tuesday Feb 11 #

Unspecified (Winter Mountaineering) 5:40:00 [3] 6.0 km (56:40 / km) +800m 34:00 / km

Acsent of The Pap of Glencoe

Nice step up from yesterday with a few technical 'steps' and some rather spicy winds (gusts up to about 60mph).

Monday Feb 10 #

Unspecified (Winter Mountaineering) 5:00:00 [3] 7.0 km (42:51 / km) +700m 28:34 / km

First day out in fairly mild winter conditions. We stayed low as weather was forcast to be pretty aweful and we ended up having a pretty fan day with some mega views.

Running 31:53 [3] 5.0 km (6:23 / km) +175m 5:26 / km

Meant to be an easy recovery run after long run yesterday and then day on the hill but picked quite a steep route so not ideal.
