orienteering race 38:11 [4] *** 3.97 km (9:37 / km)
shoes: Salomon speed cross 4

Middle distance, day 3 of the Easter competition. I had only one leg that was very problematic, I lost about 5 - 7 mins on the 10 Th leg, so ended up down the field. It was in very runnable terrain with scattered granite features, only low hills today. Prue had a good run and beat me by 2 mins.

‘Long’ 2nd day competition in granite terrain that’s been re-mapped. It was hard to read and interpret this map. Only large rock features were mapped.

Note

This morning I led the cardio session at Weeroona oval. Neil came down to the oval with me at 5:15am to help set up and because of his concern about being there alone in the dark. Neil went for a run during most of the session. It was a HIIT circuit this morning, with 6 people participating. A tough workout for them, but I spent about 20 mins either jogging on the spot or jogging with them during the shuttle run and cool down. Enjoyed a coffee with Mick afterwards.

Step into Life group (Cardio max) 1:00:00 [3] 4.5 km (13:20 / km)
shoes: Grey mizumos

We went on a road run before having a circuit session at the oval. Excellent - glad I went; I needed a run, but the circuit was really good too.

Note

Got up extra early to set up and run the powerflex session this morning. Neil came with me because it was dark and he wanted to make sure it was safe enough for me around the Weeroona oval and pavilion at that time. The group was good, and very forgiving of my early efforts. We finished 10 mins early. Oh well, I'll have to think of more exercises next time...
Got home and spent 1.5 hours walking with my neighbour.

orienteering race 56:07 [3] *** 5.02 km (11:11 / km)
shoes: Salomon speed cross 4

Vic relay championships on the Mount Lofty map, near Lake Eppalock. Lovely spur gully terrain with some low visibility near the end of the courses. Most people had difficulty in the green. I was 3rd leg runner after Andrew and Nigel, and the slowest of the team.

Note

Walked along the Lockwood ridge from Big Hill to the Marne trig point with my neighbour Kate. We were walking for 2 hours. Lovely morning in a beautiful place!

Note

Walked this afternoon with Carmel, from my place to the Bendigo Woollen Mills to get some wool and pattern for a new project. Also bought a book on crochet on impulse. After a coffee stop, we then continued along back creek and returned home. I think we were walking for 2 hours.
