Early morning jog around the streets. Only saw one other runner, who seemed to get a fright when he saw me just as I was about to pass him. Yes, it was dark and no, I hadn't brushed my hair or teeth before heading out. Should I have tarted up just for a run? Who bothers?

Bush walk in the Grampians to Mt Stapylton and back via the interesting route - Hollow Mountain, through the cave, lots of rock scrambling. Neil & I met Ching-Hua at Mt Zero & we walked to Back Cliff where a couple of climbs were done by Ching-Hua & Neil. I scrambled up one of the climbs. Then we went on this most interesting of walks. It was about 7 km long but it was very steep and we did quite a bit of back and forth looking for the proper route ( which wasn't) marked.

This was another fitness evaluation session, and included the same time trial and weighted exercises, but this time I jumped my weight up to 4kg in each hand, up from 3. Don't know my time for the 3km run.

Note

I received the X ray report for my sore toe today. It stated there is very little joint space left and the joint has moderate to severe osteoarthritis. The doctor told me I won't be able to run. I want to find ways to be able to keep running with osteoarthritis in my toe!

This was a fitness evaluation session. We had a time trial as part of this. I ran 3 km in 14:27. We also had push ups, weighted squats, planks for as long as we could hold, etc. hard work, but a good workout.

MTB ride along the O'Keefe Rail Trail with Louise and a friend from work. We rode to the Axedale pub, had lunch then rode back.

Did the Mothers' Day classic fun run this morning, and started harder than normal; managed to maintain the tempo, although I'm sure the 2nd loop was a bit slower than the 1st. me. This is the official result and I am stunned. I think it's one of my fastest results.

Orienteering on the Fiddlers Green map. Error: assuming this would be fairly straight forward navigation. Got confused on the tracks in the south of the map and ended up way off course looking for control 3. Lost 11 mins on that control. Also lost about 2 mins on control 8. It was hot running today, and very dry in the forest. Very unusual for this time of year.

Early morning run. It took a while to wake up enouigh to get up; once up it was easy to get moving. When doing some warm up stretching and exercises I even got through 20 push-ups without a break! (First time). Went for a run around the better lit streets. Saw quite a few cyclists in bunches, and one group of people running (bootcamp, I think).

Went for a run in the dark after work. Most of the run was along footpaths, but I took to the creek track for a block and ran past a creepy looking bloke sitting by the track. That block was sprinted. Phew!

This appears to be a slow run. It is a very important occasion. I went running with my sister for the very first time in our lives! I'm 55 and she's 52! My sister started jogging about 6 months ago for the first time in her life and has really been enjoying it. We went for a slow jog along the foreshore of lake Burley Griffin in Canberra. This was the longest run ahe has ever done. We had coffee and went out for lunch together afterwards. I'm very proud of my sister!
