Lovely cardio session tonight in the cold. We did lots of different stuff with our running.

Went to tone up this evening , but got there a bit early and jogged a couple of laps of the lake (3km). Then found out that a fitness evaluation was planned for this session. So, there was a 2km time trial (just over 10mins), push-ups: 20, sit ups: 30, shoulder press: 37 with 2x5kg weights, 35 weighted squats, 2min stage 3 plank, 14 sprints in 90secs. There would have been an addition km jogging between the oval, start of the run, collecting others from their run. Jenny told me I should be using 6kg weights, and I agree that the 5s are easier to lift, but I'm a bit wary of the risk of shoulder injury...

We broke the long drive home from Canberra by going for a run in the forest just south of Chiltern. A lovely gentle green forest to run in.

Shadowed my sister around a moderate course in Canberra. The start was approx. 500m from her town house. Robyn enjoyed this event in familiar terrain, and did well learning to navigate in a straight line while reading the map.

Cardio session tonight, with a few obstacle courses mixing leaps, jumps etc with intervals, carrying & passing a weighted ball, Kieran team runs, etc. clear cold night. Lovely reflections at the lake.

This was an 8 hour Rogaine with Louise and Judy, at Lyell forest, east of Bendigo. We walked for over 7 hours with each of us earning foot blisters for our efforts. My shoes are going out after today (very old orienteering shoes with worn out heels). Afterwards we headed for the closest pub for a big meal. No sitting around in the freezing cold dark enjoying soggy cheese toasters for us tonight!

Street run tonight along High and sprints up View, with a hill or two in Rosalind Park on the way back. Lovely time; the endorphins were pumping!

Weights session in the rain. Spent time alternating between weights etc under the verandah and jogs out in the light rain. Nice sesh!

Ran today with Louise and Jenny from the Spring Gully oval through the Spring Gully bushland; an extended loop around the fence. Ran the last few kilometers along Diamond Hill Rd and Burns St. Light drizzle turned into steady rain, but it was very enjoyable, even though we got the navigation a bit wrong. Had a late brunch with Louise afterwards.

Longish slow run with Louise and Judy, following Louise around her favorite Wildflower Drive circuit. Beautiful morning for a run in good company, followed by brunch with some other Step Into Life buddies who had done a longer run. Thanks Judy and Louise!

Local orienteering on the very hilly and rough One Tree Hill area. The ground was very dry and hard. I didn't feel like pushing my body hard so just plodded today.

Probably jogged another 1 km to warm up - it was pretty brisk this evening! Did a 3 km road run and then a few intervals between boxing and kicking exercises.
