Lovely event at north Kooyoora today. Made it to most of my controls reasonably cleanly, but messy at the last 3 controls. Slow moving with lots of fallen dead timber, so very little running. Stayed to help collect controls, which took over an hour. Finally got home after 6pm after taking the trailer back to the woollen mill.

Took the run it session this morning. Most of us jogged along the O’Keefe Rail Trail out and back.

Tough evaluation session; push ups, DB shoulder press, 2 min plank hold (with leg lifts), 2 min sit up reps, 2 min DB squats, 90 secs of 20m sprint reps....

Tone it session at 7am, with a few functional exercises using lighter weights and body weight exercises.

Event at Mt Alexander in the rain. The course was 4.4km in length but the terrain was very steep and slippery. Had one fall gashing my arm, but a couple of near slips which strained my lower back. My navigation was very rusty and I passed the first control and when looking for the 3rd control found control #5, so had to backtrack. That leg took me over 24mins. I was very slow, unable to run on the steep terrain. Tough, cold, soaking, but it felt good to finish (many people did not finish).

Took the 6am session this morning; it was a paired circuit session, and as there were 5 members there, I had to make up the 3rd pair. We had a mats and wall sit station, a skipping station and a standing cardio station on the grass. Five times around all those activities took about 45 mins, switch the warm up jog and stretches, the timing worked well.

Went walking on Mt Alexander today, from the stile on McQuillans Road to the top and back. It rained for the duration so we didn’t stop long at the top or we’d have got cold....

Led the cardio session this morning, including running drills, squat and lunge step up & variants, mat work and a street run (which took 22:45). Had 6 people there this morning and it’s nice to see their running endurance improving....
