Walking race 1:47:08 [4] 21.5 km (4:59 / km)

Eaglehawk 1/2 today. Went out too fast, and faded fairly quickly (when will I learn?). The second half was a bit of a struggle today. I'm very pleased to have done it, considering that yesterday I didn't even know if I'd be starting. This is a friendly event - there's always some lovely people to chat with during and after the race. It was tough on the feet, and the hills, although not steep, are quite long and made it reasonably hard.

run 28:25 [3] 5.5 km (5:10 / km)

This was a test run to see if I could possibly show up tomorrow, and register for the 1/4 if felling up to it, doubting that the 1/2 is within my capability.
I felt really good running - no leg pains - none of the usual pre-warm up aches and bone-groans common over recent weeks. Did this little run in the fastest time ever (for me). So I reckon I'll show up tomorrow morning at the 1/2 and see how it goes....

Note

Sick again. Home from work today too. Don't know how I will be able to manage the half marathon on Sunday.

Note

Sick again - another rest day.

Tuesday Mar 13, 2007 #

Note

Caught a virus from a family member. No training today - breathing is hard enough without running, and my balance is wonky.

run 41:20 [3] 7.85 km (5:16 / km)

Great to be able to do this run at a civilised hour ( ie. in daylight). It's much cooler today, and a public holiday - that's got to be good!
