Oreinteering on a lovely spur gully map near Castlemaine. Course was a basic loop with few route choice legs. Enjoyable running, with lots of hill work. I had a fairly clean run until I saw Neil approaching the control I had just left. I focussed too much on fast running then, trying to stay ahead. Consequently, I lost concentration and had to relocate...

We ran on the Diamond Hill map today. The course was good fun; no tracks added to the complexity.

run 52:16 [3] 8.4 km (6:13 / km)
shoes: Asics Torano3

this was an attempt to experience something of the Raak Plain, south of Mildura. Unfortunately the track through the mallee bushland led us to cropping paddocks. This got a bit boring, so we turned back. Found out later that if we'd continued, we would have found the lakes we were seeking.

Morning run around Broken Hill. It was so cold our hands were numb. Very different experience to my last visit to Broken Hill, when I came up with the girls. Back then it was 47 degrees and we still went running! The town is much more appealing in winter than in summer. The colour green is evident and one sees people out and about (rather than huddled inside with air conditioners)
