run 41:09 [3] 7.19 km (5:43 / km)
shoes: Brookes Adrenalin

Afternoon run in the rain - down to and around the lake and then home. This is my favourite run in town. Saw very few people - I think they are mostly inside by the heat source. Skipped the orienteering at Lake Eppalock because I really wanted to make some progress on the blinds. Spent most of the day on this task. They are slowly coming together - with some undoing of mistakes etc. Also walked to Spotlight for some cotton (one needs more cotton after undoing lots of sewing).

orienteering 1:00:59 [4] *** 6.8 km (8:58 / km)
shoes: Innovate roclite318

Skins event in Bendigo. This was a series of 3 short sprint races with mass starts. The first race - I got off with the pack, but took a wrong track and got a bit bamboozled. it took me a while to start feeling like I could run over the rough ground which now has waist high shrubbery all over it - half of which is very prickly and scratchy. Anyway, I was almost the last person in for the firs trace on course 2. Had a ball in the second race - kept up with the front pack and pushed myself a bit. The person in the pack with the best local knowledge of route choices was David Jones - this map is on his home territory; but Andrew Cameron was choosing his routes well, and, as a faster runner, won the course. AS a relatively new orienteer (this is his 2nd season, he should be running the longer courses, as he has started winning course 2). I also enjoyed the 3rd race, almost keeping up with the front group, but taking a poor route choice on one leg. Found out when comparing leg times and routes that I had missed going to the final control, so DNFed - so stupid ( but a bit funny).

Walking 1:35:00 [1] 10.0 km (9:30 / km)

Lots of walking today - to and from work twice (came home at lunchtime to meet an electrician who was fixing some power points for us). Walked to Golden Square for takaway Friday night meal after work.

run 36:23 [3] 6.34 km (5:44 / km)
shoes: Brookes Adrenalin

Went running in the early morning when it was still 3 degrees and the sky was very dark, just a lightening purple-blue-yellow on the eastern horizon...
