Social run with a group of people from Step into Life. The plan was to run from Vaughan Springs along the Goldfields Trail to Spring Gully Rd, then return. It was expected to be17kms.
The group included runners, walkers with a pram, cyclists and some who wanted to jog half that distance.
We set up a car shuttle, so my car was left at Spring Gully Rd, and I got a lift in Mick's van to Vaughan Springs.
Except for the cyclists, we all walked for the first km, with people taking turns carrying the baby in the pram because of the hilly & rough single track. Once it broadened out we set off at a jog.
Dillo & I ran to the car and half way back to Fryerstown. Not quite what was planned, but this suited us.
Mick & Sabina ran to the car, met us at Fryerstown and drove us toVaughan Springs.
Lauren & Michael walked as far as they could and back with baby Cleopatra and John ran to the goldmine site and back.
Louise & Tim rode their flash mountain bikes all the way past our turn around point to the Monk, then back.
John & I had a dip in the river at Vaughan Springs to rinse off the sweat; it was very refreshing. It's a popular local swimming spot, and has been for generations.
We all gathered at Saffs in Castlemaine for lunch.
Planning the next run, going south from Vaughan Springs... in a few weeks.

Early run this morning with Neil, around the Rowan MacKenzie loop. Neil took a dive on a dry nature strip and lost bits of skin (knee, palms, forearms). It was a quality crash and given an option to call it quits and go home (that's what I'd have done), valiantly chose to continue.

Tone up heavy weghts session held inside with the aircon ON. Outside the temperature was 41....

Cardio session in the early morning. We ran out along the OKeefe trail and back, but did a bit of running and other exercises back at the oval. Distance is close to accurate and includes the total distance runthis morning.

Jogged to the lake for tone up. Walked home afterwards, but I don't log walking.
