orienteering 1:13:53 [3] **** 5.64 km (13:06 / km)
shoes: Salomon speedcross4-navy

Korong Spur, informal training organised by Frederic Tranchand. I set out on the control picking activity, many controls quite close together. There were 33 control sites to visit and I knew I wouldn’t get to all of them. Neil caught up with me and we continued together, shortening our course at the 20th control. This was fun, and in a fabulous area.

Note

Today we hosted what has become the last bush orienteering event for a while. We had the easy and moderate courses set up for timing, and the hardnavigationcoursesrequired individual timing, in an effort to keep people from congregating, respecting the requirement for social distancing. Two people did the moderate course, but there were decent numbers of people running the hard courses. We had the required hand hygiene requirements in place, and Frederic provided some challenging training for attendees. This may have been the only bush orienteering for the year...... :(

run 30:39 [3] 4.84 km (6:20 / km)
shoes: Black mizuno

Ran home from the mechanics in Eaglehawk after dropping the car off for a service. I ran via the most direct road route, which was surprisingly hilly. When Neil does this he runs all the way through bushland parks, a longer route, but probably more enjoyable.

Step into Life group (Toneup) 1:00:00 [3]

Weights session tonight. We kept our social distance, did not share any equipment and used our own towels on the mats. It was tough enough, and glad I went after having a couple of hours spent putting control stands & flags out in the forest at Kooyoora.

Note

Spent 2 hours walking through the bush at Kooyoora putting stands and flags out for the hard courses. It was quite hot and I didn’t measure the distance covered, but hope I walked off the yummy fresh jelly slice bought at Bridgewater on the way there.
