Julie’s and Prue’s excellent adventure of walking our way around Bendigo through the bush. We started in the Myers Creek area between Kangaroo Flat and Maiden Gully (where we finished our last episode) and walked our way through 10 different orienteering maps around to Ironstone Bushland Reserve in Jackass Flat. The next one will be challenging, to piece the bushland areas together and find connecting links between them.

Orienteering competition today at Mt Korong. It’s been a warm day and the courses set by Darryl Fleahy were fabulous. On course2 we had a long leg that went along the spur, so there were route options over the top or either side of the spur. I went along the top and had great views (which I only looked up and glimpsed briefly. Had a relatively clean run except for the 2nd and 8th controls At which I lost about 2 minutes at each.

Jogged around on the Myers Creek area visiting prospective control sites and map checking for changes. Also reported 2 more rubbish dumps in the bush. It seems like every time I go out in the bush around Bendigo I find at least one more pile of hard domestic rubbish that’s been dumped, getting very pissed off...

Ran the 2 cardio sessions this morning. Lots of sprint intervals in this morning’s sessions. Participants worked hard but said it was a good session at the end.
