Fell/trail race 3:06:00  31.5 km (5:54 / km) +1350m 4:52 / km
Haven’t logged sleep as logged with 15 min run.
Had normal breakfast of oats and yoghurt. Plus had 3 small pancakes and a croissant. Breakfast 2/brunch at 1pm. Same food again.
Had 2km warm up jog + 4 strideouts 15 mins before start of the race.
section 1 - 7km/500m climb. Ran all the way, breathing really heavily but stuck at it. There were a short flat bits that allowed me to recover a bit between up hills.
Section 2 - 3km/300m down. Felt really good and really tried to push the pace.
Section 3 - 3km/600m climb. Ranger first km, then mostly fast hiked the second half - I was moving near the same speed as a guy running near me was.
Section 4 - undulating 7km. Got twinges of cramp in both hamstrings about 1km in to this section. Eased off speed slightly and the cramp passed.
Section 5 - 12km/900m down. Felt really strong with lots of energy. About 6km before the end started to lag energy on flatte section. Finished feeling strong.
Really happy with how the race went. I pushed much harder than I normally would in the first 7km section but managed to recover from this effort within the race.
Drank 1 litre water + 3 plastic cups of electrolyte at check points.
It wasn’t very hot - probably 15 at the start and rainy/clap for 5km at the top.
