Orienteering race 32:12 [5] 3.4 km (9:28 / km)

QOC meet at University of Maryland, College Park. This is an urban type sprint event. I felt like I did fairly well on this course. Only had trouble with one control - number 3, which was cleverly hidden down some steep stairs to nowhere. Lost maybe 90 seconds on that one. Then could have done some better route choices. Overall I'm happy with how I ran the course.

Orienteering race 39:17 [5] 3.3 km (11:54 / km)

Also ran the second course. This was a shorter course, but I lost at least 2 minutes finding control 7 plus I was just tired from the first run. There were some really tricky control placement. Had a great time running thru the campus. Looking forward to next year's event.

Did a very intense weight workout today. Also, tried some new exercises doing push-ups on two different size medicine balls. Those were really tough - I can feel it in the core. Did several new exercises in different order to try to get beyond plateau that I have been on for several weeks.

Morning abs and stretching workout.

Bike home. Supposed to be rainy and windy tomorrow so probably will take a day off from riding. Also, need to rest a little before the QOC event at UMD College Park this weekend. I am vounteering to help out with the meet. So will work a little then run the two courses.

Daily abdominal and stretching routine. This is getting to be a real routine. My weight is 149.5. Started at around 154. The weight lifting will probably keep me from losing a lot of weight.

Bike to work. Tried to go faster and made it one minute better. Not that great of an improvement, but I know I was going faster in sections of the ride. It's only 7 miles, so hard to shave a lot of minutes. Plus, sometimes I get stopped by traffic lights or school buses.

Bike home. Weather was very sunny and mid 50s. Saw several people out for what could be their last weeknight ride for this year.

Bike to work. It's 42 degrees again.

Bike home. It's a breezy day. This new route is boring, but faster. I think I'm getting a better workout on the road because I'm going faster.

Back to the morning Abs and Stretch. Ate a lot this weekend so really have to work this week to get ready for QOC College Park orienteering meet.
