Sunday May 6

Orienteering race 1:02:52 [3]
shoes: Sarva
Went out to Acheron for the race there and managed to get around the entire course at an acceptable level of discomfort. Not yet able to run at racing speed yet and I must have looked pretty funny trying to run with my neck contorted like it was. Still it was a fun course (at least for those who didn't get too badly lost) and quite a few controls hidden on secret ufo landing sites scattered around the map. Fortunately all flying saucers had vacated said dirt circles and there were no strange tales of disappearances at the event.

It's really nice to go running again. And that's what I said.

Saturday May 5

Event: TWALK

Running 1:00:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 2110 2.0
First run in a long time.

Tried to enjoy a gentle run along the river, but my neck was jarring horribly every half dozen steps or so and every 20 or 30 steps I was compelled to scream loudly which upset the peaceful tranquility of the afternoon.

Fortunately my hip was feeling pretty darn good for the amount of complaining I have been doing, so it looks like I'll be able to run Acheron tomorrow :-)

Friday May 4

Note
After having a wine with viv, I finally got her to have a look at my neck. After a few contortions and some cracking and crunching I was beginning to think that maybe a third bottle would be a better treatment.

Thursday May 3

Note
Jamie endeavored to inspire us from his new position of squad coach. His motivation consisted mainly of some delightful curries and a selection of desert. This was just fine with me.
