Sunday Apr 13

Cycling - Road 1:33:00 [3]47 km (1:59 / km) +170m 1:57 / km
shoes: DMT road shoes
Feeling quite tired but headed around to Pelorus for a swim. Of course I didn't actually go in the water because it is freezing there, but we had a nice picnic too.

Saturday Apr 12

Cycling - Road 2:33:10 [5]101 km (1:31 / km) +400m 1:29 / km
shoes: DMT road shoes
Nasty Graperide with poor legs, the right calf cramping badly. A pretty nice ride out to Picton. Across the hills I wasn't paying enough attention, and let a bit of a break get away out front. Had to hammer down the hill to catch up, and not wipe out on the gravel carefully placed in the middle of corners.
Spent most of the rest of the way clinging to the back of the bunch and trying to massage my calf, pretty much having a miserable time. Fortunately it seemed to get better after awhile and I managed to enjoy the last 20k.
Sadly Cris was more cunning than I in the sprint.
Cycling - Road (warm up/down) 30:00 [3]10 km (3:00 / km)
shoes: DMT road shoes
Staying on a neighboring vineyard, so a nice little 15mins to the start, and similar back.

Thursday Apr 10

Cycling - Road 40:46 [3]19.5 km (2:05 / km) +340m 1:55 / km
shoes: DMT road shoes
A nice little ride to the kiwi. Feeling good and strong today, especially on the steep parts. Fun and smooth descent, with no slow cars getting in the way.

Tuesday Apr 8

Cycling - Road 2:29:41 [3]76.5 km (1:57 / km) +680m 1:52 / km
shoes: DMT road shoes
Usual Tuesday morning interval training ride. I found it pretty nice, something which cannot be said for Cris who spent much of the bays time-trialling off the back after a relief stop on Gebbies. Followed Greig up Evans, but he was keen to drop me, which he did.

Orienteering (mapping) 4:00:00 [1]
shoes: Adidas Response Trail 14
More mapping of the Leithfield dunes. Today I ventured into some nice fast open sandy never before mapped dunes with just a smattering of tussock to keep the sand in place. Add some variety to the rougher stuff Carsten has been mapping.
