A little jog from the SOL assembly up onto the edge of the Pentlands and back. Knee pretty decent apart from on the descents as expected so walked a couple bits.

Note

Did some yoga, and got a nasty shock as to how tight and stiff I was all through the hips and glutes, I can barely sit cross legged properly on the floor.

I need to focus on this sort of stuff over the next few weeks, so that over winter I'm not trying to ram a V12 into a 2003 Ford Ka. Because something will break.

Missed my chance for swimming and the balmy conditions meant I couldn't turn down a little jog since the knee was feeling a bit better. It was noticeable but not painful apart from a few steps. It was nice to run and hopefully it's just enough to keep the rest of my legs vaguely used to running.

Plus a sauna afterwards as well. Annoyingly not much improvement from the knee during the day but it did feel significantly better after the swim, very sad not to run on a day like today though. Ah well, it can serve as a little end of season break and as much as it would be nice to be in good shape for cross countries and stuff, it doesn't need to be a priority.

With Spud and Felix, had brief stops every 10 lengths, felt pretty good.

EUOC seat, first of the year. L knee (patella) getting increasingly sore towards the end, I know it's been a few months since I've been on the seat but wasn't expecting it to be quite such a shock to the quads/knees. L behind the knee tendon popping around uncomfortably too but that was fairly constant and fine on climbs. Anyway, enough moaning, conditions were good, company was excellent and achilles/calf was fine too.

Down to KF with the gang but skipped the intervals for an easy seat lap with Ali, Tim and Finn. Feeling a bit better than yesterday but still a little tired, niggle behind L knee but achilles a bit better. No rush at the moment though so I'll easy run until I feel ready to run hard again.

Well after waking up at effectively about 3:30am in Helsinki airport, travelling back and going straight out to lectures, my legs felt as horrible as expected. Niggles everywhere, none particularly worrying apart from a slightly stiff L achilles, but L calf feeling tight and weak too so that explains that. Anyway, I was very happy to jog along at proper recovery pace and wouldn't have wanted to go much faster.
