Down to Hebden to get a lift to Brimham. Going to try and not let the race atmosphere distract me from focussing on good technique.

Yorkshire Middle Champs at Brimham. Absolutely brilliant fun, 1:4000 map is so much better than the old map, can actually see what's going on in the rocks. Had One Way by the Levellers stuck in my head which added to the great vibes. Good technique for the first section then felt a bit more rushed in the mental rocks. No major issues, just a couple times stuck the wrong side of a crag (on #28 the description really affected route choice, rare in a forest!). High HR! Ran as fast as my nav would let me, no holding back, and only really noticed the head/lack of fitness on #27 (uphill dead-ish run) and the run-in, though it probably still accounts for a few % all the time. 5th. Just under 4mins down on Johnson and Nathan.
Added up all the little time losses and it came to 2mins, worst being 40s on both #16 and #28, both lost entirely within the circle so just a Brimham thing. Other 2mins is fitness. On the plus side, 3 fastest splits, on tricky legs.

Home from Hebden, chatting to Sarah on the phone. Felt fine in both head and legs, but took it v chill anyway.
6:30 this week, a little more than planned but still fine I think. Hope I'm recovered enough for a big couple weeks - 2 big, 1 small, 2 big, 1 small (into the British).

Home from Tod. Went via Withens Res which isn't quite the shortest and definitely not the flattest, but was in road shoes and kept my feet dry. Solei burning on the climb from Mankinholes, and a nice little bit of glute DOMS, but otherwise legs feeling fine.

Canal, 5x10s hill sprints at the end. Still coughing a bit.

EUOC core, but 2 sets of 40/20 because I'm weak and feeble. Way overdue getting back on the legs stuff too, running does feel much better with strong glutes I seem to remember.
In other news, got a text yesterday from the NHS saying "Your results are satisfactory. No further action needed." Is that it?

Up to the Scarf's to drop off an EPOC kite I found yesterday, then back down Cragg and a loop round the moor to make it 90. Legs (quads) a bit tired towards the end so maybe a bit much but wanted to get a longer run in today or tomorrow and the weather was perfect too.

Up Cragg to St John's to meet mum for tea. Have had a little cough the last 4-5 days or so and if anything a bit more frequent today, feel average but just another reason to take it easy.
Went for a walk in the sunshine, rude not to be running but resting up. Potentially record hourage of running last week so want to recover well, max 6hrs this week I reckon.
