Catalina Classic - SWSW Day 1
Went a lot better than last year, probably due to more familiarity with the terrain plus it was in an easier area. Took it pretty easy bc knee which felt pretty good with some tape. Managed to not run into any cacti, just lots of thorny bushes.
- Solid start
- Turns out the large green circle was a major saguaro instead of the small thicket I was looking for but bearing was good so I got to it anyways, just a little confused.
- Good, but should have gone right of the line through the wash
- good
- Tricky leg but didn't make any big mistakes
- Tried to stay closer to the line but ended up getting pushed way off by some veg. Should have just stuck to the wash and taken the trail at the end.
- Good
- I could see a hill behind the control as soon as I climbed out of the wash so mostly just picked my way through the mesquite as efficiently as I could.
- Same sorta thing. Easy target way off in the distance.
- Good job picking up on all the washes.
- Kinda slow through some rocks and veg
- Mostly on trail
- Running along the wash would have been faster but this isn't a race or anything so took the less boring route. Although it was more of running to a hill in the distance anyways.
-F - Good, mostly just trails
