Dolomyths VK race.
Felt good, foot was tender the night before and a bit in the morning but held out. Taped it up and seemed to be fine. Pretty hot, i felt i climbed well although maybe should have started the final push earlier, didnt realise how close i was to the top! made it inside the 40 minute target.

Easy 40 mins flat. Foot felt ok, but then sore in the afternoon evening, maybe flatter stuff is the issue. Also wore the older inov8 shoes which i think may be knackered. Will use the new ones from now on!

recce of first part of the course, then down the bike tracks. Wore a silicone pad on the right foot for padding, worked ok but gave me a beast of a blister on the big toe so maybe wont use that again. Legs otherwise fine

Uphill Fartlek- 5 x 5 mins uphill with 3 mins easy uphill in between.
Started with 15mins warm up on the flat. A few navigational errors and forestry work meant altering course a couple of times which did interrupt the first few reps but otherwise all good. My plantar foot (right one) was ok, but I could feel it. I wore new Inov8 talons straight out the box, with a plantar silicon pad on my right foot. I took the lift down rather than running back down which helped as it is sorer on the descents.

Workout itself was good. I hit what felt like a solid pace for the full 5 minutes.

Recce of most of the Dolomyths skyrun course. Foot started good then got a bit tender towards the end. Took the descent steady but may be an issue come race day.
