Saturday Jul 27 #

1 PM

Running 30:00 [1] 6.2 km (4:50 / km) +121m 4:25 / km

Very easy flat run around the village. Both feet generally ok. Toe feels better when it has more space, so took out my insole leaving only my orthotic in the shoe to help give it more room. Feels much more uncomfortable when taped so not bothering with that.

Running 1:07:00 [3] 7.4 km (9:03 / km) +795m 5:53 / km

Up to the summit of Comapedrosa and back to test the toe out. Took it fairly steady throughout but wanted to test the toe out on the descent a bit. Generally ok, hoping that the race day adrenaline will keep me going and help me ignore it. Plantar foot is there, but not too bad.

Running 35:00 [2] 4.45 km (7:52 / km) +490m 5:04 / km

testing the toe out uphill - not great. Will be touch and go on Sunday! plantar foot much better though strangely.

Sunday Jul 21 #

Running warm up/down 12:00 [0] 2.2 km (5:27 / km)

Warm up
8 AM

Running race 2:17:00 [5] 21.0 km (6:31 / km) +1750m 4:36 / km

Dolomyths Skryun- good!
Foot held out and didnt hold me back on the descent. Had a decent climb, started to feel it a bit towards the top- maybe altitude related. Lost a couple of spots initially on the descent but got one of them back. Started to cramp a bit in the last couple of kms. Went over my smallest toe on the left foot and then shortly after kicked a boulder - bruised up a peach and was agony at the end. Hopefully not broken! Happy with the result though, definite progress after a month or so in the mountains
