Sunday May 26 #

Note
(rest day)

Absolute car crash in the motivation paired with one of my worst hangovers ever. Probably for the better. Week 3 done, 9 to go.

Saturday May 25 #

12 PM

Run 16:43 intensity: (13:27 @1) + (1:46 @2) + (1:23 @3) + (7 @4) 3.33 km (5:01 / km) +42m 4:43 / km
ahr:133 max:175

Up. Hot and dead.

Run 9:29 intensity: (12 @1) + (4 @2) + (8 @3) + (2:04 @4) + (7:01 @5) 3.02 km (3:08 / km)
ahr:186 max:194

Lol.

Felt super fatigued since yesterday morning but wanted to battle it out regardless to show some resilience. Didn’t check the watch at all and managed a nice regression until my stomach fully popped at 2600m and went for a shit 50m from the track. Gel and double espresso directly before not the one, noted.

PB from when I was 17yo still unshaken!

Run 14:58 intensity: (6:40 @1) + (7:43 @2) + (35 @3) 2.9 km (5:10 / km)
ahr:147 max:161

Down.
6 PM

Run 43:45 intensity: (32:44 @1) + (1:07 @2) + (1:37 @3) + (8:09 @4) + (8 @5) 9.4 km (4:39 / km) +42m 4:33 / km
ahr:145 max:187

Back there for a second try. Pacing Alex this time. Should not have promised him that in hindsight.

Friday May 24 #

11 AM

Run 51:41 intensity: (46:27 @1) + (5:14 @2) 10.0 km (5:10 / km) +242m 4:37 / km
ahr:139 max:156

Very easy plod with incredibly damaged hip flexors from yesterday. Running quick tomorrow would be very hard.
7 PM

Run 43:15 intensity: (42:09 @1) + (1:06 @2) 8.2 km (5:17 / km) +135m 4:52 / km
ahr:133 max:149

Jog with Alex. Feeling beyond dreadful.

Thursday May 23 #

9 AM

Run 58:15 intensity: (22:24 @1) + (11:13 @2) + (14:29 @3) + (10:09 @4) 13.75 km (4:14 / km) +120m 4:04 / km
ahr:154 max:179

Morning thresh feeling very subpar. Initially saw rep pace at 3.50s and barely breaking 3.45s later on which was seriously concerning and was contemplating the whole way whether this was very idiotic to be continuing this session but later on found out that the thunders of Ares yesterday might have shaken the Russian sats. Paces still could have been slow but at least a nice excuse to not believe them.

4 x 6 min (1 min)
6 PM

Run 51:06 intensity: (32:50 @1) + (6:24 @2) + (3:35 @3) + (5:53 @4) + (2:24 @5) 10.19 km (5:01 / km) +41m 4:55 / km
ahr:147 max:192

Joining in in Gencho's 1500m session. Been a few years since I have done such a thing but was fun and didn't really die which was good. Last minute decision to do a 3k TT this Saturday to test the shape so a double session 48h prior should prep me well for a 9.30.

2 x 5 x 300m (60s / 5 min) @47s roughly but terrible pacing from everyone

Wednesday May 22 #

5 PM

Run 1:10:13 [1] 14.4 km (4:53 / km) +201m 4:34 / km
ahr:127 max:139

Very easy jogging in an apocalyptic thunderstorm. First time physically seeing thunder just a few meters away blasting a tree. That probably should have been more than enough evidence that I maybe should have gone home but training takes priority over safety at the status quo. Also body felt wrecked for the first half but the adrenaline rush of running through hell changed things for the better.

Tuesday May 21 #

8 AM

Run 1:38:43 intensity: (41:19 @1) + (16:01 @2) + (16:30 @3) + (24:53 @4) 23.76 km (4:09 / km) +305m 3:54 / km
ahr:154 max:185

Off for a long commute to South Park for morning thresh with Gencho.

4 x 4 Spring laps (650m), i.e. 4 x 2.6k [2 min]

3.29s, 3.25s, 3.23s, 3.23s

Feeling like harder than usual work but still very much controlled. Gel midway to keep up the carbs. Long way home after.
7 PM

Run 35:47 [1] 6.6 km (5:25 / km) +44m 5:15 / km
ahr:126 max:172

Easy shuffle with P boy.

Monday May 20 #

4 PM

Run 1:12:30 [1] 14.58 km (4:58 / km) +176m 4:41 / km
ahr:127 max:144

Easy one with Alex. Feeling surprisingly fresh. Probs due to very limited hard running on the camp which with hindsight was not a great use of the time.
