Not sure really what all to say!

Race went very smoothly in terms of no vomiting etc. I found the start hard, particularly the 'runable' sections up signal hill and I walked parts of it. I imagine I lost a bit of time here compared to the top runners (who probably ran it all) but I didn't know if it was pushing too much too early.

I stopped to stretch my glutes at two different points. glutes and hip area felt tight and very tired! Particularly by 70km.

Big crash in energy around 76K.

I then managed to really step it up a gear (it felt like I did anyway, maybe I didn't) after popping a couple of gels with caffeine. I was being wrongly told my position as being 4th or 5th. Then I got more reliable info that I was 7th and this triggered me to speed up as I wasn't having this! This was around 80K.

Its a funny feeling being 6th and so close to 5th, 4th etc but not having actually raced with those girls this whole day (didn't see them at all after the start line). I need to put myself up there sometime soon. I have more in me for sure, mentally I need that race I think also or I will go in cruise mode (what I did when I heard I was 5th...).
