Easy running 14:24 [2] 2.7 km (5:20 / km)

Warming up before the Ripon Almond Blossom 8 km run.

Warmup 4:00 [1] 0.0 km

Stretching.

Strides 2:42 [3] 0.6 km (4:30 / km)

2×(0:20 easy + 1:00 T-pace stride).

Race 29:19 [4] 8.0 km (3:40 / km) +3m 3:39 / km
ahr:178 max:184

The 8K. Started about 10 seconds/mile too fast, but didn't pay for it: 5:40 5:50 6:08 6:05 5:36. The 3rd and 4th mile splits were slow because of headwind on a farm road from about 2.4 to 3.4 miles (the return portion was in the town). Alone after about 2.6.
The race was much, much more than I had expected. A large crowd, mile marks surveyed down to an inch—check this out!, nice swag, a T-shirt, food. Raises my opinion of the people in Central Valley somewhat. If they could only do something about that chicken-farm fragrance...

Note

Vdot = 57, as expected. At the observed rate of 1 Vdot/month improvement, I'll hit my pace goals right before the Jukola.
Next Vdot target: 5:05 for the Jr Training Camp mile. (I hope it is a correct mile.)

Note

Apparently, I should not expect race results for this one. Oh well.
