Warmup 6:00 [2] 0.6 km (10:00 / km)

3:00 running, 3:00 stretching before the WRE.

Orienteering 17:30 [4] 2.0 km (8:45 / km)

CAOC Bramble Ramble, Day 1: Blue/WRE. Quit after control 2. Will publish my story sometimes, with some graphics, titled "Event Controller: The Dodo Bird of Orienteering".

Easy running 14:40 [1] 2.2 km (6:40 / km)

Jogged back out of the woods.

Note

It rained for the rest of the day, so I didn't go out running as I should have. Eric, Dan Baird, and Anneliese found a really weird place to eat: chicken bouillon cubes and milk powder on my fettuccine.

Running with weights 14:57 [2] 2.5 km (5:59 / km)

Running with weights 22:30 [1] 3.8 km (5:55 / km)

Had a few errands to run (literally) and decided to take the next Caltrain over after the planned one; the bus/BART connections would have got me to Oakland about 15 minutes before the flight. This was a large error as the bus part was slow because someone parked in the middle of I-680. The BART connector bus also took about 17 min for 3 miles. I missed the flight by 13 minutes.
I could exchange the Southwest ticket at no penalty but this was the last flight of the day. I cashed in some miles and went across the Bay to SFO for a NW redeye. No more OAK airport for me, thanks. Ever.

Eat this, Nancy Clark.

Lunch run. Warm, sunny. Not really sore after the weekend but sluggish.

Easy running 3:20 [2] 0.6 km (5:33 / km)

From the parking to the registration at the BAOC event.

Orienteering 54:59 [3] 5.0 km (11:00 / km)

BAOC local event at China Camp. Green. The start unit walked down to the registration by the time I got there, hence an extra 1:47 (I did go to the mapped start on the way to #1). Can't they just pave over the stupid Bay and build some more runways for parallel cat 3B ILS? That airport sucks.
I did get a break my way for the very late run: one of the controls wasn't there, ans I was sure Syd or some other quick control picker made it disappear. I took the vetting tape. At the finish, however, they explained that the vetting tape wasn't where the control was, but a contour or three higher, on a different random 0.4 m carry-in, carry-out boulder. Evan gave me the credit for it.
I tried to push the first half of the course, running most of the hills, but only got the HR to 160 or so (Billygoat was avg 175). Then I gave up. Stupid mtn bikers on the trails were very annoying, as was the continuous fill of unmapped manzanita in the "white".
