Epiphany Ultra "52 km", Oakland. The race dude turned 52, hence the length—they used to do one-mile-a-year increments until recently, until the guy got his knees done and switched to metric. The run was nicely split into 6.5-mile increments by the aid stations and the turnaround. I paced well until the fourth 6.5, at the middle of which I expired; the quads just refused to go. I dropped the pace down to around 10 min/mile quickly, and it did not drop any more.
6.5 splits: 49:47 50:20 52:54 67:56 65:56 (last one was 6.7—my best guess from an EBRPD map). Got beat by a woman. Aid station/bathroom time: 9:17—got to do better.
