Orienteering 5:11:25 [2]34.7 km (8:58 / km) +1835m 7:06 / km
ahr:155 max:175 spiked:32/43c
Did the Highlander at easy intensity; no compass. Tried to stay away from people, as I knew they woudln't necessarily going at the proper intensity for me. Felt fine until the last loop, when Erin made good company at the right pace.

Blew one control by about 10 minutes, all scared in the cliffs (should have never been there). Otherwise, a decent easy run with navigation.

Saturday Oct 4

Running with weights 18:35 [2]3 km (6:12 / km) +35m 5:51 / km
Alexei asked me to put out water at one of the HH controls. I did so (shhh... don't tell anyone I saw one of the controls before the run...) I opened the water jug and scattered several cups around, so that Sergei's mental process would be all messed up as he would think he were in the lead but then find evidence to the contrary.

This was a run down to the Loop C/Loop D start, without water.
Running with weights 5:00 [3]0.6 km (8:20 / km) +10m 7:42 / km
Ran with Alexei to his car from the start/exchange point after streamering "half the park", as Alexei said.

Friday Oct 3

Note
Next week's plan is 95 km, with one R workout on Wednesday or so. I'll run the Highlander as L. The Saturday run of the Providian will be an undesired (according to The Master) I run. Hell so what—the Providian is one of the most fun things one can do with clothes on (yes, beats O indeed, especially some flavors thereof; and they cheer up for you, unlike at any O event in this place).
Running with weights 3:06 [2]0.6 km (5:10 / km) +0m 5:10 / km
To light rail. Made it.
Easy running 30:55 [2]5.8 km (5:20 / km) +72m 5:01 / km
Was late for my flight to EWR at SFO; they gave me a redeye with plenty of time to kill. I went to the city and ran in GG Park (a loop around the W portion). It was freezing cold, windy, and low fog. I wish I could move to the City.
Strides 8:53 [3]2.1 km (4:14 / km) +18m 4:03 / km
30-s strides in GG park, every 1:30: cadence 180 178 178 180 176 180.

Thursday Oct 2

Easy running 1:53:49 [2]20.5 km (5:33 / km) +75m 5:27 / km
A late-night jog through the NWR. Spooky; smelly.

Wednesday Oct 1

Easy running 50:19 [2]10.2 km (4:56 / km) +52m 4:49 / km
max:166
Guess what... 25:04 25:15.
Note
Was incredibly tired afterwards (had planned a second 10-km run).
