Note

Finished entering the missing 6 weekends of training.

Easy running 1:26:58 [2] 14.9 km (5:50 / km) +70m 5:42 / km

Ran to downtown Sunnyvale Target and back, to get a new HRM battery.

Medium pace running (Threshold plus Long) 1:35:11 [3] 13.47 mi (7:04 / mi) +108m 6:54 / mi
ahr:161 max:174

Daniels' TLT-2: 3×mile at T with 1-min rest, then 60 min easy, then 2×mile at T with 1-min rest. On a treadmill at the health club. The T was at 10.0–10.2, with 10.0 being clearly under the threshold and 10.2 being clearly over. The E was at 8.0–8.7 and the rest was at 0.5–6.0. Did some Mercury News reading during the E.

Note

W = 163?? After all this eating?? I wonder what the weight was when I came back from Europe.

Note

Went to the health club (supposedly open 24 hours) and of course, it was closed. But the restaurants were open.

Wednesday Nov 26, 2003 #

Easy running 21:33 [2] 4.0 km (5:23 / km)

Warmed up at De Anza for an R session. Nobody else showed up.

Warmup (Stretching) 1:25 [1] 0.0 km

Short intervals 55:47 [5] 9.7 km (5:45 / km)

A session of repeats: 6×(2×200 + 1×402). The batery on the HRM is near death, so I didn't take splits or the HR, just looked at the seconds.
41 39 79
37 38 76
38 37 76
38 37 74 (a sprinter kid was doing 63s and I caught some wind)
38 37 75
37 39 77.
Felt great. Not sure if #6 was needed. I'll find out soon.

Medium pace running (Threshold) 3:53 [3] 1.0 km (3:53 / km)

A finishing Luchik T.

Note

Hope to post all the missing training since summer—about 6 weekends' worth, this extended weekend.

Tuesday Nov 25, 2003 #

Easy running 26:02 [2] 5.1 km (5:06 / km) +26m 4:59 / km

Baylands.

Sunday Nov 23, 2003 #

Running with weights 2:44 [3] 0.6 km (4:33 / km)

Light rail.

Warmup 59 [2] 0.2 km (4:55 / km) +10m 3:56 / km

Started out placing bags but forgot something.

Medium pace running (Threshold) 26:14 [3] 3.4 km (7:43 / km) +240m 5:42 / km

Daniels' Ti-2 (or so), done as putting out the White/Yellow course. A total of 6 intervals, 3 uphill, 3 downhill. Had no map and took no splits. The time includes the suggested rest (placing bags), which was anywhere between 0:50 and 1:30.

Dennis W later ran the Yellow in 23 minutes.

Medium pace running 9:07 [3] 1.3 km (7:01 / km) +90m 5:13 / km

Running while watching the race. This includes racing to Control 1 before the start (4:05; the mob's best managed 3:50), and from Control 10 to Control 14 twice, shuttling water and trying to keep track of the lead.

Easy running 11:25 [2] 1.8 km (6:21 / km) +35m 5:47 / km

Got down the hill at a leasurely pace, also told Jeff that we had run out of water at both #10 and #14 (he drove up the hill with some). The lead of the Goat had already finished, but many people were still coming in, including some exciting head-to-head finishes.

Easy running (Control pickup) 1:02:33 [2] 8.1 km (7:43 / km) +345m 6:22 / km

Was feeling very tired, but after much internal debate, decided to go up the hill for whateverth time to pick up the remaining controls: a high Yellow, and the Goat's #8 and #9. Did not regret it a single bit. The feeling, coming down the #9/#8 hill as the sun had already set behind the Santa Cruz Mountains, was incredible. Came back on Hicks/Alamitos Roads.
