Running with weights 21:36 [2] 1.8 km (12:00 / km) +145m 8:33 / km
ahr:143 max:154

From the Nisene Marks event finish up to the start, pushing a bicycle and with a full pack of water and stuff. Lots of stuff. Tried riding the bike a couple of times and failed.

Rogaining (Course setting) 23:18 [2] 0.6 km (38:50 / km) +50m 27:25 / km
ahr:138 max:155

From the NM start to Control 116, with 4 gallons of water in a pack. Was scared for my life, trying to descend a classic Nisene slope with this load.

Note

About 4 more hours of putting out controls, and then walking the bicycle downhill. Jim was lost trying to put out #107, #108, #110, and #111.

I learned that from talking to him over a radio. We decided to meet at the start by the time it got dark (~4:50 pm), but he was not there and I had no radio contact. So, I was about to switch to the S&R mode—it was dark, it was Nisene Marks, and no Jim! Was just about to knock on the aboriginals' door on the way down the hill... planned the cutoff to the S&R switch at 5:10... but suddenly, at 5:08, the radio came alive, and soon Jim came flying down the hill on his bicycle.

The new home to the Safeway.

Race pace running 2:10 [3] 0.6 km (3:37 / km)

Light rail from work... in a great big hurry... this may be a new record, except I didn't time it that well. Could have been up to 10 s slower.
