Orienteering 58:51 [4] 8.0 km (7:21 / km) +500m 5:36 / km

A local event at Shell Ridge. Eric won in 57:06, I was second, Syd third in 59:10. I ran sort of hard, Eric did, too.

Running with weights 2:17:07 [1] 20.0 km (6:51 / km) +500m 6:06 / km

I hike-ran across Quicksilver at 6 am to the Hicks Rd. pass, then down Hicks to a corner of Los Gatos at Camden. The original plan was to run the whole Woods Rd. thing to downtown Gatos and meet Eric and William there, but I was not moving well, so decided to cut it short and take a bus for a part of it.

Saw a coyote up near the powerlines and Woods.

Easy running 50:56 [2] 9.0 km (5:40 / km) +200m 5:06 / km

The three of us ran at crazywilliam pace from the Corralitos entrance to Nisene Marks (just like last year) to some point on the mao short of the overlook. That's where we started our downhill O-run.

Rogaining (Course setting) 1:02:36 [1] 3.0 km (20:52 / km) +100m 17:53 / km

I set some of the course for Eric and William (the rest were bags left over from the January event, or pertty obvious features so we skipped bagging those). I only allowed myself a 10-min lead, so felt pressed for time and MISPLACED TWO BAGS, including one that I had been to three times in the course of preparation for, and during the January event. Ended up at the agreed meeting point about 15 minutes before William showed up.

William had some notable adventures, but did not seem too upset. Eric did not have any problems this time, except for the second control that I misplaced.

Nisene Marks still has two of my control bags...

Easy running 1:32:18 [2] 20.5 km (4:30 / km) +75m 4:25 / km

Baylands, with Eric and William Hawkins. At the crazywilliam pace. It was warm (+17 oC). The quad finally felt fine. I was dragging behind the other two a bit.

W43 left Moffett on his snazzy airplane just as we finished.

Medium pace running (Threshold intervals) 36:44 [3] 8.0 km (4:36 / km)
(injured)

At de Anza, did 4×2000 with about 1:30 rest. No warmup. Was concerned about the quad, and felt it on the last interval. Syd did 5×, Eric did 4× but I skipped their first one, still undecided whether I should at all or not.

8:07 8:11 7:55 8:00—Eric set a pace that would save us for the upcoming Way Too Cool. Tapio, Dan Greene, and Kent Ö were also there.
