Easy running 3:04:47 [2] 27.0 km (6:51 / km) +1235m 5:34 / km

From the Presidio (GG bridge souvenir shop, W side) to Mt. Tamalpais, E peak (touch the N side of the building at the top). Through the most obvious way (bridge, Coastal Tr., ..., Marincello Tr., Miwok Tr., Panoramic Hwy.—actual pavement, Hogsback, RR Grade, and Fern Creek Tr.). Except took the vehicle underpass after the bridge—did not see the pedestrian tunnel, and took the long/bicycle version of Miwok while chasing a biker.

I did a thorough job of measuring the route and the climb, using a variety of sources—mostly an OCAD trace and BART measurements. But, the length from Mountain Home to the summit is a bit uncertain; I used 4.8 km.

Got there just before sunset. Felt awesome.

Easy running 45:24 [2] 8.1 km (5:36 / km) +15m 5:33 / km

Down from the East Summit, via the (longer) Temelpa Trail, Fern Canyon Rd., and Summit Rd., to Mill Valley Depot. Got the most out of the remainder of the daylight, and got not even the last, but the next-to-last GGT #15 bus.

The length of the trail segment (4.0 km) is just an estimate.

To the bank and back, at lunch.

Easy running 22:01 [2] 2.97 mi (7:25 / mi) +24m 7:14 / mi

Tried out the treadmill at the new place. Man. With a gym like that, who needs the stupid $35 fitness club membership? (answer: people who can't get a date otherwise).

Easy running 2:45 [2] 0.6 km (4:35 / km)

A #55 bus dash, from the office.

Easy running 10:38 [2] 2.0 km (5:19 / km)

Warmed up at De Anza, with Syd, Tapio, and Thorsten.

Long intervals (Threshold) 33:33 [4] 7.6 km (4:25 / km)
ahr:174 max:184

.5×mile intervals, with 1-min rest. The "half", because I felt progressively weak, breathing hard, and the HR was sky-high even though the pace was 5 s off the last time I did this exercise. Times: 6:22 6:24 6:24 6:26 3:18. Maybe I did go over the threshold, but the muscles did not feel the lactic build-up. Rather, it was breathing and coordination that seemed the tiring factors.

Syd trailed a bit, averaging about 6:42. But he was good for the full 5×, as were Thorsten and Tapio, both running under 7:00.
