Note
(sick)
This morning, felt much better... the neck was all itchy on the left, and stuff coming out of the left ear. The new (SF) doctor said that I most likely had had a viral infection (the tonsils were swollen, but no white spots; and slightly swollen neck lymph nodes but no other problems).

Also, BP was 122/90. The doctor said I should work on getting the diastolic one down. I think it always goes up when I train hard (i.e. in the present case, try to return to a decent volume from months of inactivity). Also, I have no other risk factorsas I understand, for a stroke one needs not just high pressure but also a blood clot, which is unlikely as my cholesterol is ultra-low.

Ran at a BAOC Sprint at Bayfront Park. Two hours of driving for 18 minutes of running... Felt shaky physically the whole way; and navigation-wise, also shaky in the beginning, about the first 6 controls, but then rectified the situation and nailed the rest of them dead on. Could not, though, get my running upwas breathing heavily but the HR and speed were low. Had a taste of blood in my mouth when finished.

Note
(sick)
For about three weeks I've had this feeling of something stuck on the left side of my throat, with some bits of what looked like food coming out periodically. Finally on Friday I used my racing light to look, and sure enough there was a 23-mm white spot on the tonsil. I figured out it was something in the tune of the mucocele I had in 2003. Sorry to gross you out.

On Sunday, after the race, I started to have stiffness and pain in the neck. The stiffness and discomfort progressed, and today I felt pretty similar to the neuronitis. A lot of ringing in the damaged ear, but no loss of feeling in the fingers or the foot (yet). No fever, either. However, the white spot is gone, the throat looks pretty healthy.
