This day starts the training part of the 2006 season; all I did between mid-October and now was just for fun, not watching the mileage or trying to get things structured in any particular way. The first 24-week cycle (one spare week) is to prepare for the Jukola. Do I have any goals? I guess. Goal number one is to stay healthy. If this happens, I would like to kick ass at
Those are somewhat exclusive goals, one requiring lots of speed training and some forest-running technique improvement; the other one, tons of long slow ultrarunning work. Well, I think I can gradually increase the mileage as I prepare for the Jukola, and switch 100% to long and slow as it is over.
In my preparation for 7WRC, I think I'll do the Big Muddy, the NARC, and possibly the
Vermont 100.
