warm up and talk-o with Laura, very slow and steady on the controls i navigated to but went good cos i didn't make any mistakes. tired from lack of sleep cos my cold kept me awake a lot of the night and i had to keep getting up to drink cos my throat hurt. laura was running way faster than me as usual but i just about managed to keep up (probabaly only cos laura bashed her ankle on a rock but we'll forget about that

simplification exercise to concentrate on the longer legs, set off a few minutes after laura so saw her a few times up ahead on the course, pretty pleased with how it went, no mistakes exxept a misjudgement in terrain so had to spend a while climbing over fallen trees which was not fun as they were like twice the size of me. found emma halfway round the course who shouted excitedly at me cos lynne had drawn the path on her map whereas everyone else had a pathless version - not sure why that's so exciting but oh well

warm up and control pick and talk-o (but talking to myself), me daisy and emma got left behind on the warm up cos dan doesn't know the meaning of the word slow, but luckily lynne has given me a map so we managed to get back although emma walked cos she's a lazy poo. enjoyed the control pick despite being reluctant to do it at first, ended up going round with jake for most of it cos i caught him up and then we both couldn't find the last control even tho we were stood right on top of it (i would blame my blindness but i had contacts in so no excuses), talk-o was rather boring, didnt finish it cos of time and was stressed that my watch was gonna go flat but it survived on 1% and then somehow gained charge by the time we got back to the youth hostel.

didn't do the night sprint cos i hate the dark and didnt want to make myself more ill but it was very fun watching everyone run manically around the grounds and fall over especially when emma tripped cate up and she face planted

Suddenly felt ill when i woke up this morning, very sore throat and started feeling sick after lunch so decided not to go orienteering tonight

didnt start the run till later than usual cos me and emma are very good at putting it off. eventually started and was quite tired at first but felt much better once we'd done about 3k (apart from when i "splatted on the floor" as emma decided to describe it) i actually just tripped on some uneven ground and had to put my hands down to stop myself face planting which is why my hands are still bleeding a few hours later. emma somehow managed to take the wrong road even tho she lives in cockermouth so she obviously needs to work on her nav skills (daisy would never have taken the wrong road get a grip emma), finished the run and came back to a lovely virtual parents evening. (would just like to add that i was not scrolling through tiktok like emma says i was, in fact i was the one waiting for emma since she took so long getting changed while complaining non stop about her sports bra and then going for a piss)

definitely an interesting training session. pretty annoyed that dinner was only ready 2 minutes before i had to leave for training so i couldnt properly enjoy my mac n cheese, luckily we had to go half an hour earlier anyway to get lectured at by Bri about last sundays match (obviously not my fault cos i didnt play) so was basically 30 minutes of me standing there shivering with no idea why everyone was mad at each other, but sounds like a lot of stuff went down on sunday which was made worse by multiple injuries and a hospital trip so glad i didnt play. rest of the training was good fun tho even with a slightly sore knee and a bit tired from the run earlier. lots of long shots and many blocked shots so legs are killing in some places.

tuesday night training session, not sure how it was technical given we were running round harris park which i could run blindfolded and literally all the controls were along paths. very slippy on the paths but at least i didn’t look stupid like emma who decided to run in waterproof trousers (for context it was barely raining and emmas just a wimp), she also somehow managed to run into someone which was very funny. lost count of how many courses i ran but they were all pretty similar. absolutely no mistakes cos i’m amazing and i didn’t ruin my training by eating cake like daisy and emma so overall a pretty good session
