It feels like I am slowly coming back. For real. The ankle was definitely sore at about the 15 km mark, but up until then, I ran pretty pain free.

Pulled out 25 km into the 50 km run. Was having an awesome run, sitting in 4th/5th place, but the ankle was not happy. Had to play it wise.
This is a GREAT race and I WILL be back.

Tried to scout control locations for the main rogaine section of Run the Wild. Had intentions of clearing most of the draft course in 3-4 hours. Unfortunately, I didn't account for the crotch deep snow that magically appeared over the weekend and only managed to check one control in 1.5 hours (the closest one). Almost had frostbite at the end. Definitely an afternoon bordering on ridiculous. Plenty of laughs.

Decided to bang out a repeat up Prairie Mountain to finish off the day. I think it was the best evening on Prairie I have EVER had. An absolutely gorgeous wintery wonderland......pity it is April 16.

OMG.....I just ran 8 limp-free, brace-free, "almost" pain-free kilometers. I have never enjoyed a little pavement run around my neighborhood quite so much.

I started to think that I might be on the road to recovery and one day soon, I will be a runner again.

I actually ran ran. Like on pavement. Ankle got mad after about 4 km, but still.....that's progress. My legs were also very very tired from all those Barkley miles.
