Copper Mountain
The plan was to powerhike to top of Copper Mountain for bluebird views, run down, then drive up to Shames for afternoon of downhill. I got about a kilometer up the access road the realized that the 90+ cms of snow we got this week made hiking very difficult. So, I returned to the car, and kit up in my AT gear. Skinned to the summit which was incredible. Never saw a soul. It was surreal being all the way up there on my lonesome, and a little bit intimidating, but I knew everything was stable and I could handle the ski down. Made some very buttery turns out of the alpine and down through the top of treeline to rejoin the access road.
I had hoped the lower section would have softened by the time I came down but it was still icy and ripped up from the skidoos. It was bascially unskiable, but I made my way down until i couldn't bare it any longer. Ended up strapping my skis to my pack and boot-packing the last 3.5 km to bottom.
An amazing day out. Will downhill all day tomorrow!

Post workout hike up Terrace Mountain because the day was too perfect to be inside. It was still a little icy.
