Running (Trail) 55:00 [3]

A gorgeous morning run with the kangaroos. Saw about 30 this morning!!

Road Biking 1:05:00 [3] 28.0 km (25.8 kph)

A nice wake-me-up ride out and back from Narrogin. However, it was already 30+ degrees by the time I went out. It's going to be a scorcher today!

Miscellaneous (Surfing) 30:00 [1]

Seems I hadn't been for about 5 years, it was definitely a bit of a workout! A very gorgeous morning down at Trigg Beach with Chip. Today I almost could have given up triathlon for ever in order to become a surfer again.....the water was crystal green with some nice bum-high waves coming in and a gentle off-shore breeze. Perfect!

Swimming 50:00 [3] 2.3 km (21:44 / km)

500 m warm-up
300 m kick
500 m swim
1000 m continous (17:50)

Running 1:53:00 [4] 21.0 km (5:23 / km)

Was in Perth so joined up with Tooms, Jen and Wil for a nice long run.

0- 5k 5.18 Pool to NE corner of Herdsman Lake
5- 10k 5.17 Around N side Herdsie to Churchlands SHS
10- 15k 5.30 Up Hale, Buxton, Holy Spirit, OceanVillage - dog Beach
15-20k 5.54 soft sand dune dash, service road, Oceanic hill
20-21 5.19 City Beach high school to end

I need to practice running in the sand dunes so I don't get left behind next time. Not a bad effort just 10 days post-ironman. Felt good for most if it...until (like Tooms said) my legs were shattered by the sand dunes.

Road Biking 1:35:00 [3] 44.0 km (27.8 kph)

A bit of a blustery morning out on country roads but a VERY enjoyable ride. Did the Narrogin-Cuballing-Wandering Rd loop. My new goal is to spend the next month or so learning how to LOVE biking again.

Yoga 1:00:00 [1]
weight:64.9kg

A much more focussed session today

Swimming 25:00 [2] 0.9 km (27:47 / km)

A quick swim before meeting my 5-year old neice to give her some swimming lessons.

A bit of free, butterfly, breastroke, some sprints, drills and water running. A nice smorgasboard.

Yoga 50:00 [1]
weight:64.9kg

A bit of a weak effort today as I was trying to mutlitask: babysitting my loud and energetic neice and nephew and doing yoga at the same time. The two don't really go together. I got body-slammed by a 2.5 year old during one of my floor poses!

Swimming 40:00 [3] 2.0 km (20:00 / km)

A nice cruisy 2000m continuous swim

Yoga 1:15:00 [1]
weight:64.9kg

I'm working on a little human experiment called, "Project Yoga", where I test the effects of doing yoga every day. So far.....awesome! One of these days I'll have to get back into real training though.....you know....that running, biking and swimming business.

Running (Trail) 1:10:00 [2]

I love running after a big race. It's because I'm running purely for the absolute love of it. I don't care how far I go, how fast I go, or where I go....I just run. Guilt free junk miles! Today was definitely one of those soul-healing runs. I waited until late in the evening when the day's heat had subsided to about 33 stifling degrees and the air became breathlessly still, and the sun was setting and the town was silent. I went up and ran the trail network in Foxes Lair Bushland Reserve which is just on the outskirts of town. It was spectacular. The low light was reflecting off the white gums, the crickets were singing, the bush smelled amazing, a flock of huge black cockatoos flew alongside as I ran, and I climbed up some granite rocks that overlooked the entire area and I saw that I had the whole place to myself. And then as a final treat, I came upon a group of 8 kangaroos who were drinking from a pond. It is good to be alive and fit and healthy.
