Orienteering (Star Swamp Metro O) 44:00 [3]

Didn't wear a Garmin so guessing time and have no idea of distance. Sprinting hurts. Orienteering is fun.... although the metro series hardly passes for orienteering. Nice excuse to run fast, though. 1st girl and about 5th overall on long course. Stuffed up one control coz I didn't read the description. Dumb dumb. Route choice was sort-of OK but can definitely see better.

Running 15:00 [3]

Warm up jog.

Big tour-de-Perth with some bog laps in Kings Park. Finally getting my biking legs back and toughening up my butt.

Running (Barefoot on the beach) 2:15:00 [3]

Trigg Island to Swanborne on the soft sand and back. I have a feeling I might regret that tomorrow.

Paddling (Surfski) 1:40:00 [3]

Today was one of those day where I wonder why I don't live here. I went out for a paddle with Pete from Canning Bridge to Nedlands and then back via Applecross. I switched into Pete's Fenn ultra-tippy race machine for the return trip (not by choice, but because he started paddling away in my boat). I think he figured it would be entertaining watching me trying to balance my way back across the waves and chop. It was the first time I have ever been in a performance kayak and he kindly gave me a 2-minute practice allowance in the shallow. Keeping in mind that I am pathologically terrified of jellyfish and there were bazillions of them floating in the river today, I was not very relaxed. I tipped three times before finally insisting we switch back. Fortunately, I was back on the more stable surfski by the time we passed back through the mothership area of jellies. Yuck!

Overall, I am pretty chuffed to have managed to make two thirds of the way across the river in Pete's tippy boat. I could definitely move here and take up paddling seriously.
