Quality of sleep seems to really taken a hit this week. Feeling quite tried. Run was enjoyable, if rather cold. Parked in town and ran along the river and did a loop of the parks and sports fields. Fairly sloppy underfoot but was happy to take it very easy. Legs feeling a bit fatigued from yesterday's moderate. Strideouts were solid but unspectacular. Nasty cold headwind for most of the return.

Happy Christmas!

This was a good one. Pace was relaxed and legs felt strong. Although a little quicker than prescribed it was definitely a comfortable pace. Felt like I could have maintained this for another hour without much effort.

Another late one. Easy run around the village doing loops. Roads were fairly dry apart from a 100m stretch which was fairly icey. Legs feeling fresh and pretty sprightly.

Planned a run up Carlside and Ullock and along the ridge. Weather was full scale blizzard just above Dodd so we decided against that and did a shorter loop on the fire roads in the forest. Very easy effort but we had a few blasts here and there. Soaking wet and cold by the finish. Very enjoyable.

20' @7% and 4:35/km

My proclamation that I'd have more time this week is looking wrong! 8pm was first chance I had to run. I won't be making Christmas presents again if I can help it.

Legs felt tired to start with but they actually woke up nicely and felt like I ran well and controlled for the tempo. Set off at 4:39/km (same as 5 min reps) and reduced it to 4:30 for second half. Amazing how much easier 3% reduction made. Comfortably held the pace and will attempt closer to 4:20 next time.

Came away pretty happy with that session.

slept:7.0

Rosie and Alf having to isolate this week as Rosie's mum got a positive covid test, just means I'm trying to juggle helping with Alf and getting other jobs done. Spent the day running around for other people and then was making Alfs Christmas present. Got back home at 9pm, pissed off and tired. Did a quick S&C, just one round of exercises to failure and went to bed.

Easy run with Agnes to Rockcliffe and back. Enjoyable run, ran a touch quicker than usual easy perhaps. Effort still low. Strideouts were pretty good, picked out the dryest sections of river bank on way back.
