Mardale Head to Kentmere and back. Really nice day, sunny with a fresh breeze. Ran out to Kentmere solo and turned to catch up with Rosie after 1.45 on way back over to Sadgill. Legs were pretty tired by then as I overcooked the top half of the Gatesgarth descent out of enthusiasm. Ran back with Rosie, final descent was just a gentle trot. 90 mins out and 1h45m return.

Banana to start
2 bottles mountain fuel
2 GU gels
Piece mini egg cake
9 Choc pretzels
Roughly 70g carbs/hr

Run - Trail (Easy) 45:00 [1] 7.5 km (6:00 / km) +30m 5:53 / km

Easy run along the river with Agnes. Felt very out of sync, I've got a big knot in my right shoulder/neck and it's tightened up today. Feel a bit out of line. Legs a bit heavy but not too bad. Decided to skip the strideouts. Beaut of an evening along the river, wildlife galore.

slept:5.5 shoes: Nike Pegasus

Alf decided he didn't want to eat last night so woke up at 4am shouting. Only got another 30 mins sleep after that. Missed the early run slot but had a quieter day planned... Ha! Got on the treadmill at 8:20pm, on the upside I was really up for it. Run went well, each mile rep was 7:08/mile 4:26/km. Really clinging on during last half of last rep. Enjoyed the hard work tonight.

Treadmill (Easy) 1:00:00 [2] 7.7 km (7:48 / km) +650m 5:29 / km
slept:7.5 shoes: Nike Pegasus

Long day today. Knocked out the wall under the stairs a while back so under pressure to get it tidied up and units made. Jumped on the treadmill while waiting for some glue to set. Was planning on just a quick 40 mins as it was 9pm but made it an hour as I was enjoying myself. Nice and easy uphill. Did a bit of walking on steeper grade too. Aware if shin tightening/complaining after 45' but no pain. Decided I'm making the back of my van into a mini camper too, started sticking in insulation at bait. Could come in handy.

Run - Mixed road/trail (Moderate) 58:30 [3] 10.38 km (5:38 / km) +125m 5:19 / km
slept:6.75 shoes: Saucony Peregrine ST

Attempted moderate back from work. Difficult to do with a dog that's too hot and stops to sniff at every gate/stile. To be fair effort was there most of the time but broken up a bit, it's just slow going on that route. Weather was glorious. Really enjoyed it and better energy levels today.

Got a tender spot low down on right shin again towards end of run. Not painful really just stuck and tender to touch.

Run - Mixed road/trail (Easy) 34:00 [1] 5.1 km (6:40 / km) +45m 6:23 / km

Had a sleepy drowsy tiredness pretty much all day, tried to have a 20 min nap after work but couldn't sleep. Thought the run would freshen me up. It didn't. Along the river with Agnes in both directions (flooded) so did a mile on the road. Dog enjoyed it. I didn't particularly.

Gelt woods again, bad weather and a shortage of time meant could hit the Lakes. At least my conscience is clear on not travelling too far. Couple of laps hitting the hillier parts and seeking new paths. A couple good ones, and one that resembled a Barkley Marathon descent. Felt hungry after n hour and was flaking at 90 mins. Still moving well just very hungry. Legs still not great on the climbs. Very boggy underfoot.
