Sunday Apr 27

Ski touring 2:00:00 [3] 8 km (15:00 / km) +880m 9:41 / km
Another warm and sunny day, another ski tour up Elsigenalp to Elsigenhorn and back over Metschhorn. This was an easy, gentle tour in a remote and quiet area now that the gondola is not running anymore!
All in all, we were climbing about 3 1/2 hours and downhill skiing almost 45 min on great spring snow.

Saturday Apr 26

Did our first ski touring trip of the season. Sensational day, but fairly dangerous as lots of snow had fallen over the last 6 weeks with high temps so the snow cover is soaked in many places. In the morning, the cover is fairly solid. We climbed from Engstlenalp to the Tschingellochtihorn, quite steep in places. The new equipment, skis, skins, crampons are behaving beautifully :-).
The downhill was absolutely fantastic on a hard crust with a tad of powder on it. I could turn any which way I wanted and succeeded to make great turns!!

Run to Bleiki again; I am somewhat faster than last week, whew! 35.52 to Ruedi's hut, 7.55 to Bleiki (total 43.47) and 22.20 back to hotel.

Teach nice yoga class, feels so good on my legs and sore muscles. Today, nothing fancy, just nice, gentle moves and great stretches.
Nordic Walking 1:10:00 [2] 6.3 km (11:07 / km) +150m 9:56 / km
The sun finally came out this pm!!! :-) Have nice NW class and go up to Wachtfeuer overlooking the lake of Brienz. Beautiful glacier-blue colored lake and light green trees and tons of white-flowering fruit trees.

Run with Manuela the Lombach loop to 2nd bridge; for a change only a few drops of rain ;-) but not soaking wet anymore!

I have sore legs from yesterday and the leg strength trainings!

Teach the Wednesday strength and fitness conditioning with same exercises as last 2 days (which gave me sore muscles) but more reps: 8-12-15. I cannot do the ab work as I am too sore still, but enjoy the leg strength again.

Tuesday Apr 22

Do my lunchtime long Lombachcreek loop with SZimann. We start out fast and I forgot to punch my watch :-(((. Just today, when I was going to do a temporun until the 2nd bridge. Grrr. Alone on the way back, and I am beat from the fast pace at the beginning. Pours cats and dogs all day!

Total 35.41; 8.29 from 2nd bridge all the way down to turnaround and 27.12 back with temporun of 3.52 between 2nd and 1st bridge.

Teaching two senior classes and feel my abs from yesterday. Somewhat sore legs and butt from Sunday and yesterday's leg exercises.
Nordic Walking 1:10:00 [2] 6.5 km (10:46 / km)
Amazing that 6 people show up for Nordic Walking despite the constant rain! Decide to go down the Aare to Lake of Thun and the ruins of Wyssenau. I wear waterproof stuff now (as compared to the lunch run) and I feel warm, almost dry and cozy in my jacket and hood, only the legs are soaked (again!).

Teach my core class with abdominal work and side bends as well as some lunges and variations of it. I got somewhat sore from this workout!
