Hiking 1:24:57 [2] 5.71 km (14:53 / km) +271m 12:02 / km

Felt very tired today, leg muscles empty. Kicked myself out anyway to explore a bit and to be in the sun, we have such an incredible week.
I was also looking for a trail that was kind of flatish so I went exploring and after 2 km I was on it (like the map indicated correctly) and I followed it. I'm glad I found a nice alternative to the steep uphills all around. Did not push at all, just enjoyed it. Slow jog from appr. 2 km to end.

Running 58:22 [3] 4.3 km (13:34 / km) +431m 9:03 / km

Went from the place we're staying uphill starting out fast hiking. Then I took a trail through the marsh all the way up near the "Bödele" where I was supposed to meet Urs . However, because the snow was just melting and only one trail with wooden boards through the marsh was cleared I could not get on a trail shortcutting towards the pass as I had done last time I was here. So I needed to climb quite a bit into more and more snow then take the almost clear forest road back and down to where Urs was waiting.
Afterwards we crossed to other side of the pass to the still very sunny and warm side and did a shorter, easier hike.

Mountain Biking 1:38:37 [1] 24.11 km (4:05 / km) +14m 4:05 / km

We went on a very easy ride along the old Rhine which is basically a nature reserve and rode on to the confluence with the new canalized Rhine.
My legs and body were really tired from this weekend. So an easy ride was just about right.

Bike O race 1:02:37 [5] 8.84 km (7:05 / km) +221m 6:18 / km

Fun middle distance bike-O race in some clusters of very small single trails then longer sections of going to the next single trails which was lots of fun navigating and deciding on the correct trails to the flags.
Made probably a few route choice mistakes as decided then to take smaller trails on the direct route and there had been a lot of wood cutting and areas the tractors went through and it was deep and muddy/wet ground which was impossible for me to ride my bike or some other sections of those trails were completely covered with branches, again pushing, lifting, hauling the bike through. I now guess that it was probably faster to go around on faster forest roads even though the distances were sometimes 2-3x as long.
Afterwards, one is always smarter and it was so hard to judge in the woods which trails were passable and which were not. I had fun anyway.

Bike O race 1:16:12 [5] 15.05 km (5:04 / km) +360m 4:31 / km

First bike-O race of the season. Did not feel quite well, my head was somewhat filled with bubbles. Tried to concentrate and went ok at the beginning, it was mostly easy except close to the control locations as they were often on tiny trails which was fun navigating. Had 2 best-time legs until # 5, then I came to this one intersection which looks like a the body of a spiderweb. Recognized it from an national meet around the same time 5 years ago where, again, ended up taking the wrong trail and was hopelessly lost. The same today, I thought it all looked correct, but I thought I needed to go uphill and was riding downhill which was hard to mapread on the bike as I concluded I must misread the contour lines which is easy to do in that forest. Hard to know what's up or down. Eventually, I realized that I must be far off, had no clue anymore (a déjà vu from 5 years ago) and sped towards the edge of the woods. Tried to suppress my impatience to really find out where in the world I was: at least 2 km opposite to my control location! Rats. Biked over there and from there I made no mistake anylonger (my head was all clear now!). Had another 5 best-time-legs on the last 7 legs into the finish. So annoying.
