Long distance race in Prémaron one of the most difficult areas for foot-O, ski-O and now we're trying it for bike-O.
Very O-technical area as well as riding-technical, very suited for elite athletes but most over 65 yrs have problems riding in that area.
I had to start first (again, the 6th time in a series: Italy, France Bernex last weekend and now!!) with the dominator in the W70 right behind me. And of course, I made a huge mistake to #1, 7 min detour and fell pretty hard as well. Bruised my nose and have a contusion in my left thumb. Knees are bruised but ok. Continued anyway as I seem to function just fine. Made no other major mistake, just too slow and out of steam today. My legs were hurting from all the effort yesterday. Also my arms and back had enough from pushing the bike, though today was much less. But the terrain was rough and in spots hard to ride. Even the forest roads had those white rocky sections, uphill I didn't have the strength to push through, so I walked/jogged.
Another time I tripped over my own feet (a twig between them) while jogging and landed again face down on my knees.
Kept getting stronger and faster though towards the end but it wasn't long enough to secure a no. 2 finish, so I was 3rd again :-(. Oh well.

Bike-O race in Prémanon, France. Swiss championships in sprint. This part of the woods is extremely rocky and undulating. Had to walk a lot, pretty much hop and and off during the race as I couldn’t ride neither some up- nor downhills with rocks and mud. Don’t seem to have that kind of strength quite yet (or will I ever have it again?).
The map and the course were very hard to read and complicated.

Riding up to Couvet by going up the areuse and its gorges. It was tougher than I anticipated and took me longer than I wanted.
I was going to see the kids run in their 4th (out of 6) races of the BCN Tour but realised at some point that I would not make Lena's start. At one point on a steep hill the chain got yanked out and blocked, I could not move neither way. It took me close to 10 min to be able to get it out. I tried to block the front wheel on the slope to the side of the dirt road as it was steep and worked withe my hands to free the chain. After many slight advances of deblocking it I finally had it out, whew.
Being short in time I decided once I had reached the upper part of Val de Travers to take the road and really pushed the pace there as the traffic was also heavy. I saw that Lena had just finished, after having won the first two races (what a surprise), she is not feeling quite well lately and she finished now twice being forth. Overall she's still 2nd. She recovered after a moment and forgot her frustration. Nice to see that she has some fire for something which she enjoys.
It started raining really hard and Matti had to run in pouring rain. He did win this race again. They are 3 boys (11 year old) that fight every race for every second. Overall, Matti is also 2nd but he's just 4 sec behind first because on the 2nd race he fell badly at the start and lost a lot of time.
I eventually went home by train as it continued to rain hard. Biked home then from Bôle down but did not record it.

A tough class, had my limits mostly when being too long on my knees or with exercises bending my knees.
Very little upper and lower back movements with bands. Hard to do and isolate certain back muscles.
