Orienteering race from our club ANCO. Decided to do it at the start after I've checked out the courses for 20 secs to decide which one.
It was good technical orienteering as always in our region and the woods weren't too rough but difficult enough for me in terms of getting over trees, branches, bushes etc. But was stil quite happy with it.

Note: started the watch too late. And on another note, there were cows in the meadows I had to cross, the mother cows mooed quite unpleasantly (protecting their calves?. Didn't feel comfortable.

Jogging up to the start with Lena. I offered to shadow her (knowing how hard this area and terrain are) but she wouldn't hear of it. And she discussed strategy with Marc and Matti would start 5 min behind her to help her out just in case.
So I didn't want to interfere and then chose my own course one level above hers and never saw her even though I could have on my first 3 controls.
Unfortunately, it was too hard for her, she missed the llittle trail turn-off just after the start and Matti took a different route, so Lena was somewhere far off ahead in the woods. She seemed to have found 1-3 but gave up at Nr. 4 and walked back. The course was good but a level too high for her as she is not 10 yet.
