This one was bittersweet. Found all CPs, but one. This would be the best outcome so far for me. But also made some easy mistakes that were very costly.

Biggest mistakes:

CP 5 - I read the map wrong and was going too fast. I ended up by CP 11 and had to sprint back to CP 5 = embarrassing!

CP 13 - I spent 30ish mins trying to find and eventually cut ties and decided to move on. I eventually saw my mistake on the second lap, which made it even worse because I was so close...ouch!

If I could get that 45 mins back, It would’ve been a complete different event. Other than that. I made a couple wrong turns, but recovered pretty quick.

I had a lot of fun and this will definitely fuel the motivation to keep practicing the navigation!

Another run at the speed practice.

Worked on pace count while running/jogging. I was coming in at 20-30 paces/100m, depending on up/down hills.

I tried to keep it simple and use rough map/collecting features until I got to my attack point and then use the compass to work on the pace count/distance estimation.

Still ran into 3 deer this time.
