| Brew Ha-Ha Street Scramble event in Fremont. The only option was 90-minutes on foot, and I ran with Gina.
I love the Fremont event, as it's in one of my favorite neighborhoods in Seattle, and it's short enough that I can run pretty much the whole thing without getting slaughtered too much.
Gina and I decided to hit up the downtown ones first, since the finish area was at a different location (where the beer was). We lost about 0.1 mile hitting them in a weird order (because of the fast pace, stoplights, and such). We also lost about 0.3 miles running around to the Fremont Bridge, as opposed to using the stairs (the stairs appeared to be closed for constuction, but whatever).
After about 1.8 miles, Gina decided that she couldn't run any more, which really frustrated me. I had plenty of running left, and I was pretty much forced to walk the remainder of the course. Our original plan held up, however, as we had a 3-checkpoint series that we cut out, that we saw during the planning stages. Other than that, we pretty much followed the same exact plan as the Nerds, which meant that we were pretty efficient!
We barely won the Corporate Category (by 10 points). Vlad and Gabe were the next highest placing REACH team, only 40 points back. They ran a lot, but had a few navigational glitches. |
