Note
Winter-O Finale is tomorrow, and I'll be spectating. As far as spectating goes, this is a good one, because there are a lot of close races to follow in the standings.

Winter Series Men:
It pretty much comes down to three guys: Eric, Nikolay, and James. If Eric or James win tomorrow, they win the Series. If Nikolay wins and someone other than Eric or James finishes second, Nikolay wins. Also, my friend Nick has a goal of reaching 300 points for the season, and he needs to finish 19th or better to accomplish that. Since I'm sitting out, that should help him a little bit.

JV Girls:
If Bonnie wins tomorrow, she wins the series. If not Tracy wins.

JV Boys:
Another tight one with three possibilities: Drew, Matt, and Dan. Dan needs to win tomorrow and have someone other than Drew or Matt finish second. Matt needs to finish in the top five tomorrow AND beat Drew to win, as long as Dan doesn't win tomorrow. Drew wins the Series in all other cases.

Varsity Girls:
Another three-horse race, between Claudia, Holly, and Tori. Tori needs to win tomorrow to win the series. Because of how the tiebreaker works, Holly needs to win tomorrow to win. If neither Tori nor Holly win tomorrow, Claudia wins the Series.

Varisty Boys:
Currently, there's a tie between Huw and Matej. The only result that will change the outcome is if Matej wins tomorrow. Otherwise, Huw either wins outright or via tiebreaker.

All other divisions are already clinched.
Note
I have this weird thing where whenever I see a lot of blood on TV, or if people talk about cuts, wounds, needles, blood, etc..... that my body, my arms particularly, feel weak. That's just how it goes.

With my sprained ankle... I watch TV shows or commercials and I see people running, jumping, making sharp turns... and if my ankle isn't bothering me at the time, it starts to tingle/hurt just a little bit, and I immediately wonder, "how do they do that?"... because right now, I can't. It's an immediate reaction. Just like my weak arms, now I feel a weak ankle. Does this make any sense?

Other 25:00 [3]
25 more minutes of crutch-walking + hopping on one foot. My arms are getting pretty sore. I didn't want to go down to the cafeteria and back at lunch today, so I stayed at my desk. I'm actually logging half of this time early.... I'm sitting at my desk and not really wanting to trudge out to my car.... but the Lost season premiere is on tonight, so I have to leave sometime, right?

Note
I'm over a week behind in updating my log, but I won't be training at all in the next week or so. I severely sprained my ankle last night playing volleyball. I was blocking at the net, and I came down on the opponent's foot under the net and rolled it really bad. Really bad.

Usually, I play through pain and injuries. I knew within a second of being on the ground that I was done. Luckily for me, one of the guys on my team played football in college, so he's used to treating all sorts of sprains. It was iced and elevated within minutes.

Driving home was a challenge, with the stick shift. Good thing I have a brand new clutch to work with! I actually had to crawl up the stairs to get into the house, and crawl up the stairs to get to my room!

I slept with stuff under the foot of the mattress, so I could sleep with it elevated, and this morning, I wrapped it up and I'm ready to go. But, I still can't put any weight on it. I should be at work right now, but just walking in from the parking lot will be an adventure. I need crutches, so I think I'll go out and get some now.

I sprained my ankle at Barebones, but this one is 5x worse. It also hurts much higher than I'm used to, which means that this is likely one of those "high ankle sprains". I didn't hear/feel any pops (I would be able to tell that, right?) and there's no bruising, just swelling so that my ankle resembles a softball. And it flippin' hurts. This is easily the most painful injury I've had in a long, long, time. Maybe ever.

Since I can't even walk today, that means that I'm definitely out for volleyball today and basketball tomorrow. I'll be going up to Mt. Vernon for orienteering on Saturday (because I'm bringing people), but I don't know if I'll be able to run. Maybe I'll be able to walk ok, and I'll walk Course #7 just to get my 4th race in and qualify. But I don't even know about that.

I'm really hoping I'm good to go the weekend following, as I'm heading up to Vancouver, and the weekend following that, as I'm going to Arizona.

This is really depressing.

Other 35:00 [3]
I'm going to log 35 minutes of walking with crutches because it's exhausting and a pretty hefty arm and ab workout. I had to walk from the far corner of the parking lot, down through the tunnel, way over to the elevator, and then over to my desk. Then about half of that in reverse to the cafeteria. And then back to my desk. And then back to the car. Every time I got to where I wanted to be, I was sweating a lot. I also spent some of this time hopping on one foot.

Volleyball 1:15:00 [2]
Everett A-League Volleyball
Officially: 2 wins, 2 losses
Unofficially: 0 wins, 5 losses

Our opening match opponent forfeited, but we played the team that had the bye, and they beat us handily both times. We've definitely got a weak spot in the rotation when I start front center.

The middle games were supposed to be a bye, but we played in the absent team's spot instead. We didn't even get through one game before my ankle injury. I was blocking front-right, and last time she spiked, I blocked it, but I was too far from the net, and I blocked it into the net. On the injury, I was making an effort to get up there and block it back. I was too close to the net and my foot landed on hers, and you know the rest.
