Grindleford Fell race, 4th overall, 1st U23 and a U23 course record.

Very thankful for the English champs race on at the weekend making the field nice and uncompetitive. Very surprised no fast U23s have raced this since the course changed, hence why I was able to get the course record.

Thought the race went well, didn't set off too hard and watched the fly and dieres disappear for the first k until the climb. in 4th basically the whole way from there. Bit of a battle with a dark peak bloke into Padley Gorge but descended significantly quicker than him once it got technical. Actually caught and overtook 3rd towards the bottom of the descent but didn't put enough into him, and he flew past me on the flat field towards the river crossing. Turns out he's ran sub 14:30 5k so had no chance on the flat stuff.

Overall pretty happy with it, and I got a bottle of wine so can't complain too much

2 lots of 400,200,400,200,400 (200 jog) with 400 jog recovery between.

Averaged 73 on the 400s and 34 on the 200s, very much out of my comfort zone with that session, not used to the fast stuff. Didn't do the 3rd set to try and save myself a little for the race on Thursday.
