Orienteering (Turf) 1:30:00 [2] 5.0 km (18:00 / km) +60m 16:59 / km

Estimates for both time and distance today. Turf in Bannockburn, wedged around control-guarding duties at Sprint Scotland.

Spent an additional 30 minutes lookinng for dead people in Bannockburn cemetary - found plenty but not my great-grandparents, which was the one I was looking for.

Got in a dreadful fankle with traps in the later part of the earlier session, so not very economical

Orienteering (Turf) 2:22:19 [2] 11.14 km (12:47 / km) +40m 12:33 / km

As Godders so helpfully pointed out, I was premature in calling the May turf round this weekend, so a bit more oomph required to ensure mid-table mediocrity.

Familiar route - Middlefield, to the Helix & Kelpies, down the canal to Carron Lock, and back up through Abbotshaugh to Bainsford; home via the War Memorial.

Orienteering (Turf) 1:14:46 [2] 5.23 km (14:18 / km) +60m 13:31 / km

Back to the scene of the crime. Round Callendar Park, including a search for the control stake that was pulled off last night, up to the High station and back to town

Orienteering (Course setting) 4:00:00 [3] 7.5 km (32:00 / km) +120m 29:38 / km

Four hours pushing a supermarket trolley round the Callendar Park woods to set out controls for this evening's WEE. Trolley worked fine on the bridleways, but was a bit awkward on the muddy paths. Still more efficient than carrying the kit.

Orienteering (Turf) 3:04:17 [2] 15.18 km (12:08 / km) +60m 11:54 / km

From town, past the war memorial to Rosebank. Up the Forth & Clyde, past the Wheel and out to Bonnybridge. Round the lower part of the village, up to High Bonnybridge, and, via Rough Castle, back to the Wheel.

Finished round the Wheel zones, up to the Union Canal, and home via Bantaskine. Drookit! Rain came on as I passed the Wheel for the first time, and stayed on throughout. I'd have been drier if I'd jumped in the canal and just swum home. On the positive side, now 12,000 points clear of the relegation places, with four days to go in the round.

Orienteering (Turf) 2:07:12 [2] 11.77 km (10:48 / km) +40m 10:38 / km

Same route as Friday. Middlefield, Helix & Kelpies, Forth & Clyde to Rosebank and home.

10.5 minutes/km - am I getting fast or is the clock running slow?

Orienteering (Turf) 1:54:45 [2] 10.09 km (11:22 / km) +40m 11:09 / km

Pretty rapid session - think this is the first time I've managed to make 12 minute/km in a long time!

From town to Rosebank, then Forth & Clyde to the Wheel. Round the Wheel zones, and through the short tunnel to the Union Canal, then home via the High station
