Saturday May 22 #

(rest day)

Playing some tennis with the kids. Enjoying the relief from an epic foam roll the night before. Hoping it isn't humid or hot on Monday morning

Friday May 21 #

Run 52:21 [3] 5.6 mi (9:21 / mi)

Hot and humid trail run in Shuniah. Totally gassed with the heat, my heart rate was so fast! Let's hope that Monday is cold.

Epic foam roll to release the hips and upper glutes/lower back.

Thursday May 20 #

Run 45:00 [4] 6.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

Last workout before the race at LPH in full downpour. Felt a bit sluggish at first but I think I'm only 95% recovered from vaccine reaction.

I have to trust that all this training is going to pay off. I hate tapering. Got in a bike ride in the evening

Wednesday May 19 #

Run 45:00 [3] 5.0 mi (9:00 / mi)

Feeling about 80% recovered from vaccine side effects. It's funny when you are running more than usual it's easier to find the edge but now I feel all slow, like my legs have no juice in them.

After a couple of miles it kicks in a bit. Try again tomorrow

Tuesday May 18 #

(rest day)

Fever, chills, super tired from vaccine, trying to take 15 minute naps between Zoom meetings. Couldn't bring myself to go run but my youngest made me go for a long walk to buy a slushie and that helped.

Monday May 17 #

Run 1:15:00 [3] 7.8 mi (9:37 / mi)

Classic Monday trails at 6:30am but I felt like shit, tired, blah, just wanted to be at home. Right Achilles is hurting.

Got the vaccine shot at 10am and went for a 6 mile road ride w Antonio.
